Returns & Refunds at Xiromed
Medicine isn’t a sweater you can send back because the color was off. It’s regulated, sensitive, and often personal. So instead of hiding behind fine print, we wrote this policy the way we’d explain it to a partner across the desk — plainly, honestly, and without the runaround.
Here’s how returns and refunds work when you do business with Xiromed LLC.
Who This Policy Applies To
Xiromed LLC is the US generic pharmaceutical division of Insud Pharma, S.L., based in Florham Park, New Jersey. We supply FDA-approved generic medicines including our xiromed progesterone and xiromed birth control portfolios to wholesalers, pharmacies, distributors, and healthcare purchasing partners across the United States.
This policy covers direct and indirect purchasers of Xiromed products. If you bought a Xiromed generic as a patient at your local pharmacy, please read the section below on patient returns the rules are different, and for good reason.
What Can Be Returned
We want returns to be fair on both sides. A product qualifies for return credit when it meets clear, common-sense conditions.
Eligible Returns
You may request a return for Xiromed products that fall into these categories:
- Expired or near-expiry stock — Products within six months of their expiration date, or already expired, following standard industry return-goods windows.
- Damaged in transit — Items that arrived broken, compromised, or unusable, reported promptly after delivery.
- Shipping or order errors — Wrong product, wrong strength, wrong quantity, or a duplicate shipment we sent by mistake.
- Recalled products — Any Xiromed lot subject to a voluntary or FDA-mandated recall.
What Must Stay True
To keep everyone safe, returned products need to meet these conditions:
- Sealed and unopened in the original manufacturer packaging
- Stored under the labeled temperature and handling requirements
- Accompanied by lot number, NDC, and proof of purchase
- Not marked, defaced, or repackaged after leaving our control
If a product’s storage history can’t be verified, we can’t safely resell or credit it and neither would you want us to.
Timeframes That Actually Make Sense
Deadlines matter, so here they are without ambiguity.
- Damaged or incorrect shipments: Notify us within 15 business days of delivery.
- Expired or short-dated returns: Submit within the standard six-months-before to twelve-months-after expiration window.
- Recall returns: Follow the specific timeline stated in the recall notice, which always takes priority.
Miss a window and we’ll still talk to you. We’d rather find a workable solution than slam a door over a few days.
The Return Process, Step by Step
No mystery, no maze. Four steps.
Step 1 — Reach Out First
Contact our returns team before shipping anything back. Every return needs a Return Authorization (RA) number. Products sent without one may be delayed or refused.
Step 2 — Gather Your Details
Have your NDC, lot number, quantity, purchase invoice, and reason for return ready. This speeds everything up and helps us process credit faster.
Step 3 — Ship to Our Designated Processor
We’ll direct you to the correct returns location or third-party processor. Pack products securely and include your RA number on the outside of the shipment.
Step 4 — Receive Your Credit
Once we verify the return, we issue credit to the original purchasing account. Most approved returns are processed within 30 days of receipt.
The Exceptions — And Why They Exist
This is the part most policies bury. We’re putting it front and center, because pharmaceutical safety depends on it.
Opened or Dispensed Medications Can’t Come Back
Once a sealed package is opened, or once a medication has been dispensed to a patient, it can’t be returned for resale or credit. This isn’t about being difficult it’s about integrity. There’s no way to guarantee how a product was handled once the seal is broken, and we won’t put a future patient at risk.
Patient Returns Go Through Your Pharmacy
If you’re a patient who received a xiromed progesterone prescription, a xiromed birth control pack, or any other Xiromed generic, please don’t ship anything to us directly. Return questions for dispensed medication should go through your pharmacist, who follows strict federal and state rules for handling returned drugs.
Other Non-Returnable Situations
- Products stored outside labeled conditions
- Items without verifiable lot or purchase information
- Partial packages or repackaged goods
- Products damaged after delivery through mishandling
Refunds and Credits
Approved returns are typically issued as account credit rather than direct refunds, in line with standard pharmaceutical distribution practice. Where a monetary refund applies such as a billing error on our end we’ll process it to the original payment method once verified.
We aim to make every resolution feel fair. If something about a credit doesn’t add up, tell us. We’ll look again.
When Something Goes Wrong, Talk to Us
Policies handle the routine. People handle the rest.
If your situation doesn’t fit neatly into the categories above, reach out anyway. Behind every Xiromed shipment is a team that would rather solve a problem than quote a rule at you. That’s the same principle that drives how we build medicine at Xiromed LLC quality, honesty, and respect for the people on the other end.
